Michelle James

Senior Psychologist

Michelle is a Senior Psychologist with FBG Group, experienced in both Public and Private sectors. Michelle has previously worked as a Psychologist with the Albert Road Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital, where she was involved in the individual and group-based treatment of patients within the day program, outreach and inpatient settings. Michelle also has experience in the Department of Justice - Corrections Victoria, where she worked in Marngoneet prison (Violence Intervention Team) and with the Serious Offender Assessment and Treatment Service (SOATS). Michelle has firsthand experience in the assessment and treatment of serious offenders. Whilst working with SOATS as a Senior Psychologist, Michelle had responsibility for service delivery within a Victoria prison setting, the supervision of clinicians (psychologists and social workers) and was involved in Correctional Staff training.

Michelle also has extensive experience in therapeutic settings where she utilises a client centred, strengths and evidence based approach to engage clients in effective behavioural change. She is experienced in working with adults of all ages in couples, groups and individual sessions. Michelle has an interest in engaging employees to build resilience and wellbeing in the workplace to enhance work performance. As a registered Psychologist, Michelle acts with integrity and is a capable and motivated professional with experience as a counsellor, supervisor, and facilitator.
